As a logistics manager, Anton always kept everyone on their toes. Now that he is retired, his little dog Tobi is the only one he wants to make run.

“I was always the manager of a logistics company. That was a fairly intensive job. Always busy arranging things, chasing everyone. So the idea of a peaceful, old age, that was exactly what I was working towards in recent years. Just doing nothing, no more running around for others. Long walks, walking the dog, let him do the running, haha...”

As I grow older, I find myself in need of more certainty. That's why I've opted for a fixed pension. This way, I know exactly how much I'll receive each month, and that just gives me peace of mind. My wife's pension isn't very high, since she has always worked part-time. So, it felt right to arrange a partner's pension. As a supplement to her own, smaller pension in case I'm no longer around.

I chose a temporary higher pension. That also provides some room to make some fun trips in the coming years, now that I am still fit.

You never know how things will turn out, but I am doing everything I can to grow old in good health. That also includes having a stable source of income and staying financially healthy. I was already with Zwitserleven. And I trust that everything will be fine. It's kind of a choice for convenience, actually. But it feels right. So I don't need to switch pension insurers. I still had a small pension here and there. Those were all commuted in the end. Just put everything together, and then went on a nice vacation with the whole family. Pets and all!

Retired on pension date

Anton did not retire earlier or later. But on his retirement date. If your retirement date is earlier than the date on which your state pension starts, you often have a few months of lower income.

Temporary higher pension

Anton opted for a temporary higher pension. To make more frequent enjoyable trips at the beginning of his retirement.

Fixed pension

Anton opted for certainty, and for him that means a fixed pension. This way, he knows exactly what he will receive each month.

Pension commuted

Anton had a few small pensions. They have all been commuted.

Had partner’s pension

Anton's wife had a low pension. So it felt right for him to arrange a partner’s pension for his wife.

Had right to shop

Anton had the right to shop around, but chose to stay with Zwitserleven, the same pension insurer where he also built up his pension capital.
